Golden Cells™ are the exclusive mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) used in all treatments at the Stem Cell Institute. Stem cell treatments at the Stem Cell Institute are designed to meet the highest safety standards. We use specially-selected mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) known as Golden Cells™, which have been extensively studied and are considered safe for therapeutic use. Our process is overseen by a team of 100+ professionals with 20 years of experience performing 80,000+ procedures safely. There have been no serious adverse effects of stem cell therapy reported by the 15,000+ patients we have treated.

The stem cells we use are specially-selected mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from umbilical cord donations of healthy, full-term births. The process of collecting and preparing these cells is meticulous: – Cord donations are sourced exclusively from healthy women after normal, c-section births in Panama who willingly participate in our donation program. We only accept donations from families who have undergone thorough medical screening to ensure the absence of infections and other risks. Our donors sign a consent form, fill out a detailed questionnaire, and give a blood sample. The mothers’ blood undergoes extensive testing for a variety of infectious diseases in accordance with international blood bank guidelines. Umbilical cords are collected in a sterile environment immediately after delivery, posing no risk to the mother or baby. Once collected, the cords are immediately transported to Medistem Panama, Dr. Riordan’s local state-of-the-art stem cell laboratory, where the cells are isolated, tested, and prepared for use.

At the Stem Cell Institute, our Golden Cells™ are administered in different ways depending on the patient’s condition and specific needs. Typically, patients receive at least three rounds of stem cell treatments as part of their overall care plan. These treatments can be administered through: Intravenous (IV) – Stem cells are infused directly into the bloodstream. Intramuscular – Stem cells are injected into the muscle tissue. Intrathecal – Stem cells are injected into the spinal fluid to target the central nervous system. Perilymphatic – Stem cells are injected around the lymph nodes. Intra-articular – Stem cells are injected into joints using image guidance. Below is an example of a stem cell treatment protocol: – Treatment length: 4 treatment days / 5 hotel nights – Physical examination and blood testing: Day 1 – 3 intravenous infusions of Golden Cells™: Days 2–4 – Intramuscular and intra-articular injections (as needed)
